What is Timeshare?
Timeshare means permanently owning a week of vacation. At a Timeshare Resort, every unit is divided into 52 weeks, and each one of those unit-weeks can be individually owned.
What is the benefit?
Timeshare ownership means a pre-planned vacation every year at a resort you know and love, without the stress of hunting for rates and hoping your dates are available. Your week in your unit is ready and waiting for you year after year. Because it brings your loved ones together every year, it should really be called Share Time!
How does it work?
When you buy a week of Timeshare here at Windjammer, you are buying a piece of Real Estate. It is deeded to you permanently, and is even inheritable by your heirs. You are then an owner at the Windjammer Condominium Association. You pay an annual maintenance fee and property tax for your week, about $630 total, which is significantly less than the cost of renting for the week!
What can I do with my week?
There are a number of options available to you as an owner.
- Occupy your apartment for the week: Of course you can loan the use of your week to another party as well.
- Put your unit up for rent: Windjammer Resort operates as a hotel, and any rental income from your room and week go to you! Management receives only a 25% commission. At current rental rates, a full seven days of rental will not only cover your maintenance fees, but put a little extra in your pocket!
- Bank your unit with a Timeshare Exchange Company
What does it mean to Bank my unit?
There are thousands of Timeshare Resorts all over the world. Through the exchange program, owners at one resort are able to "bank" their week at their resort, and exchange for a different week somewhere else in the world!

A success story of timesharing at its best and how it was meant to be...
In 1978 the Boutin family acquired two motels side by side on the beautiful beach in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Florida. In 1980, the two properties were joined together, completely renovated and converted into 25 one bedroom units, 3 two bedroom units and 5 studio units. A Timeshare Condominium Association was created and the Windjammer Resort and Beach Club came into existence.
Today, the Windjammer is one of the cleanest, most well maintained properties you’ll find on the Gold Coast. It is a shining example of why timesharing was created and why hundreds of Windjammer owners are happy and proud to call it their second home. It is situated in an ideal spot for anyone coming to South Florida to relax, unwind and enjoy.
We have hundreds of repeat guests that have been vacationing here every year for 20 years and more, some for 30 years. Others have taken advantage of the timeshare exchange programs to visit other resorts all over the world. When you own at Windjammer, you have strong exchange clout to get the exchanges you want. Windjammer also has one of the more successful rental programs in timesharing to allow a third option of ownership and provide above average rental income to its owners that choose to rent out their unit weeks.
What brings them back year after year is our superb location, the consistency of our accommodations, the continual upgrades in furnishings and our management and staff. In 2010, Windjammer celebrated its 30th year of continuous family owned management.
The property has 33 units, all with kitchens, with two pools for guests to enjoy. You won’t have to deal with crowds here and you’ll always find a spot to relax in. Our beach is extremely well maintained, inviting and wide.
